These unnecessarily utilize the system resources and may even sometimes cause bugs and crashes. Along with parsing and filtering web pages before they’re displayed on the screen, they also load their own pack of data from the Internet causing the browser to slow down. Thus it is always advisable to remove the extensions that are no longer in use. Doing this is a very simple task to carry out. If you are using a chrome browser, then you can find the Extensions option under the ‘More tools‘  present in the main app menu. Whereas in Firefox it is available under the Add-ons in the main menu. Furthermore,  in Opera, open the  ‘Extensions’ from the main app menu. But for the extensions that you really want to keep, make certain to do the following:

  • Make sure to use the latest versions to prevent the bugs.

2. Clear out the cache

As you make a visit to the internet for fetching information, your browser keeps a record of it. The piling of these files on disks is referred to cache. So whenever you make a visit to the same site your browser only downloads the new bits from the web. Thus eventually leading to a reduction in the waiting time. However, clearing them can also boost up the speed of your browser. As in certain instances, these may lead to the occurrence of bugs and glitches leading to many run time errors. Thus is better to wipe out cache at proper intervals in order to mitigate the problem of browser slow down.

3. Clear out Cookies
